No AI notes

Open the meeting in the full window and look at Notes. What it says tells you where to start.

"AI notes need Claude Code. Sign in…"#

recd can't find Claude Code. Install it and sign in, as in AI notes with Claude. recd looks in ~/.local/bin, /opt/homebrew/bin, /usr/local/bin and ~/.claude/local. If you installed it somewhere else, it won't be found.

To check from Terminal:

"… needs signing in again"#

The Claude login for this meeting's save place is signed out. The message has the exact command to run in Terminal. Run it, then press Rewrite.

"Rewrite" is greyed out: "Needs the transcript first"#

AI notes are written from the transcript. Right-click the meeting in the sidebar and choose Make Transcript, then Rewrite. If that says the tracks aren't on this Mac, the meeting was recorded on another Mac: make the notes there.

"The transcript is empty and there are no notes to work from"#

Nothing was heard and you wrote no notes, so there's nothing to summarize. Check the meeting had sound. See My mic was silent.

"Claude Code:" and a message#

Claude Code answered with an error, such as a usage limit on your Claude plan. The rest of the message comes from Claude Code. Try Rewrite later.

No message, no notes#

• Is it a meeting? Screen recordings don't get AI notes.
• Is Settings › Transcription & AI notes › Write AI notes after each recording on? If it was off, press Write AI notes on the meeting's page.
• Is the transcript still being written? The notes start after it.
