Every message reaches the person who builds recd: nick@revenuelaboratory.com.

Ideas, things that confused you, and bugs are all welcome. So is "this page didn't match what I saw": the help center gets fixed too.

For a bug, include#

1. What you did, step by step.
2. What you expected, and what happened instead. The exact wording of any message helps a lot.
3. Your recd version, from the bottom of Settings, like recd 0.1.0 (57).
4. Your macOS version, from Apple menu › About This Mac.
5. The log file, if you're willing. See below.

A screenshot or a short recd recording of the problem is often the fastest way to show it.

The log file#

recd writes a plain-text log of what it does: one line per launch, permission change, recording and save. It's at ~/Library/Logs/recd.log.

To find it: in Finder choose Go › Go to Folder…, type ~/Library/Logs, press Return, and attach recd.log to your email.
