Keep the mini player on top, and other window options
The Appearance and Shortcuts sections of Settings decide how recd's windows behave.
All of these are in Settings, in the full window. Open it from the menu bar menu (Settings…) or with ⌘, while a recd window is in front.
Appearance
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Appearance | System, Light or Dark for recd's windows. |
| Show timer in menu bar while recording | The red timer next to the menu bar dot. Off shows only the red square. |
| Keep mini player above other windows | On by default, so the mini player floats over your other apps. Turn it off to let other windows cover it. |
| At login, open | What recd shows when it starts: Mini player, Full window or Nothing (just the menu bar dot). |
Shortcuts
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Double-click menu bar icon opens full window | On by default. Off makes every click open the menu. |
Option-click the menu bar dot to open the menu straight away, even when double-click is on.
Moving the mini player
- Drag it by any empty part.
- Flick it: it flies to that edge of the screen, bounces once, and settles there. Grab it mid-flight to catch it.
- Press ⌘W to put it away into the menu bar dot. Bring it back with ⌥⇧⌘M or Show Mini Player in the menu while recording.
The full window
- It can't be smaller than 920 by 600 points.
- Hide the sidebar with the sidebar button in its top corner, and show it again with the same button in the top bar.
- ⌃⌘F makes it full screen.
