Your first recording in 60 seconds

Press the dot, pick a window, talk, press stop. The link is on your clipboard.

You've installed recd, allowed the microphone and screen recording and connected Google Drive. Now make one.

The mini player, idle: the record button, Record, the mode, the microphone, and the expand button
The mini player. The dot records; the middle shows what it records and which mic.
  1. Check the mode. The mini player says Screen next to the screen icon. Click it to choose Screen, Meeting or All screens. Keep Screen for now.
  2. Press the dot, or press ⌥⇧⌘R from any app.
  3. Choose what to record. macOS shows its picker: click a screen, a window or an app.
  4. Talk. The mini player shows a red REC timer and your mic's level. If the level bars move when you speak, your voice is being recorded.
  5. Press the dot again (now a red square) or ⌥⇧⌘R to stop.
  6. Wait for the pop. recd saves the video, Drive uploads it, and a few seconds later recd copies the link and plays a short pop. Paste it anywhere.

Recording: the red square stops it; the ruler under the timer fills every five seconds.

Try a meeting

Switch the mode to Meeting and start a call in Zoom, Meet, Teams or FaceTime. recd records your mic and the call's sound, then writes a transcript and AI notes when you stop. Read Record a meeting.
